In a rather important development, the Australian Department of Commerce has stated that those hunting for a job break in the mining business in the country must be on their guard against the unprincipled scammers who have established a bogus jobs website.

The website in question,miningjobswa.org, is reportedly mimicking a legitimate employment website known as miningjobswa.net.au even as it is employing an Australian Business Number pilfered from an Australian firm with a comparable name.

As per the Department of Commerce, the said website is still in business notwithstanding the efforts made by the Consumer Protection to get it closed and the address being utilized by the scammers is not a business sites, but a leisure park.

According to the acting Commissioner for Consumer Protection, the employment hunters must know about the bogus websites that claim to provide great employment opportunities but which actually only wish to rob the aspirant’s hard-earned money and perhaps their identity.

He elucidated that already the Consumer Protection has obtained a report of a likely candidate losing some money when asked to shell-out the charges related to their job petition on the said site. The unfeeling scammers are making efforts to rip-off the gullible job hunters.

The aspirants may also be asked to reveal their personal details and send a copy of their passport for identification objects even while it creates the likelihood of identity theft later on, the Commissioner for Consumer Protection added.

He also reportedly indicated that though while the present warning is about the miningjobswa.org website, there will be new false sites on the Net, presently and in the coming months that are making efforts to target susceptible seekers of job.

There are also numerous bogus job announcements being given on genuine sites, like Seek& Gumtree. Since the figure of the reports and total losses from employment scams is heading north it is crucial to check that the common man knows about the tricks and their longing to discover a job won’t lead them to become a scam prey, he added.

As per the department, the job candidates must be 100% alert and do some independent spadework. A modest online search or phone call, for instance, could be sufficient to check that a business, firm or trading premises nonexistent or is being copied.

It is also mandatory that the Australia employment and recruitment agents are licensed and they lack the authority to charge employment hunters for the services offered. They can only take fees from the recruiter/firm. Candidates would do well to only utilize the suitably approved employment agents duly listed on the official website of the Consumer Protection.

The aspirants are also urged to guard their personal information comprising CV, tax file number, and any evidence of identity documentation.
