As per a report, the Canadian administration has set a pushy target in its 2016 Immigration Levels Plan, aspiring to receive a maximum of 305,000 new permanent residents during 2016 across a chain of economic, family, and refugee/humanitarian immigration classes.

Significantly, this is the first time in several years where a Canadian administration has fixed a goal of 300,000 or beyond.

Even as the Maple Leaf Country is throwing its doors wide open to immigrants, with plans for additional refugees and better family reunification times, the general target number for economic immigration classes has seen a minor cut from the 2015 plan. Still, economic immigration keeps on being by far the largest category, in terms of the figure of new entrants duly targeted.

As per the in-office Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the nation will be in a position to greet more people to its territories.

He stated a bill fittingly tabled in Parliament urges for anywhere from 280,000 to 305,000 permanent residents to be provided with the permission to enter the nation this year, and this comprises additional refugees from the war-ravaged Syria.

Terming it the nation’s highest targeted figure of new immigrants to the nation in modern times, the minister proclaimed the government’s objective is to welcome aliens who want to put together a better and superior Canada.

Reportedly, the plan backs family reunification, cuts in petition processing times, acts in response to economic requirements, and permits the administration to fulfill humanitarian goals. Though the plan is thought to be duly tabled every November, the plan for 2016 was held up by not only the general election but also the change of regime around that time during the year gone by.
