Recent Express Entry draw witnesses surprising drop in CRS score level

In a program specific draw conducted on May 1st, the Government of Canada has issued 3,311 invitees to express entry applicants. These invitations to apply under this latest express entry draw were issued under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) to eligible applicants. For this, you will be required to score at least Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 452. 

With the dip in CRS score count, this is one of the lowest taken in to account so far in the year of 2020, which is three points lesser than CEC draw that was conducted back on April 16th, and had a minimum score requirement of 452.  In another draw held earlier this week, a total number of 589 ITAs were issued to Express Entry applicants via the Provincial Nominee Program. The minimum score for being eligible for these applicants was 692. 

If you are an Express entry applicant with a provincial nomination you will be able to score an additional 600 CRS points, which in terms of your overall CRS acts like an addition and helps you securing a permanent resident card for Canada immigration. 

Because of this facility, there is a high cut-off CRS score requirement. For example if as an applicant who enters the Express entry pool of candidate with a CRS score of 300, and also then procures a nomination from one of the Canadian provinces, there would be a double increase in his score round up to 900.

In this draw, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) employed its tie-break rule and the date and time was October 10, 2019 at 19:15:28 UTC. This would mean that the CEC applicants with scores of 452 and those who have submitted their profiles prior to this time and date, received an ITA in this round of invitation. This latest draw would total up the number of ITAs issued to 34,300 in 2020 alone.
