Express Entry Draw- Provincial Nominee Program Specific- 341 Invitations Issued

On June 10, 341 Express Entry candidates with provincial nominations have been invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada. This was 151st Express Entry draw targeting provincial nominee program candidates only. The minimum cut-off score for the draw was 743 or higher, dropped 14 points from the last Provincial Nominee-specific draw.

This is the seventh Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw by the federal Express Entry system ever since the covid-19 pandemic has engulfed Canada on March 18 and special measures have been introduced by the Canadian government to control further spread of the virus. Even amid the sprawling effects of the coronavirus followed by a complete lockdown, Canada continues to conduct immigration draws targeting both PNP as well as Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.

Provincial Nominee Applicants Invited

Provincial nominee programs have been quite active in the past few weeks. Many provinces continue to hold their individual draws to invite foreign applicants who have the skills and experience to contribute to the provincial economy. 

In this draw, IRCC has issued invitations to apply only to PNP candidates with a CRS score of 743 or above. Combining all PNP-specific draws, IRCC has sent a total of 2000 invitations for permanent residence since May 2020. June also seems to be a busy month for PNPs, gearing up to conduct more draws in the coming weeks. Recently, British Columbia, Ontario, and Manitoba have also conducted their PNP draws.

Each province in Canada, except Quebec, operates a number of provincial nominee programs. These PNP pathways are designed to promote the economic growth and development of the respective provinces. The programs are unique in nature and are created considering the economic and demographic needs of the province. Therefore, the eligibility criteria and application procedures differ from province to province. PNPs are a popular option because they are the fastest pathway to Canadian permanent residence.
